From 3 to 11 September 2021, the World Conservation Congress, which serves as a biodiversity summit, is being organised in Marseille by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Conservation of nature for future generations will be on the agenda.
The collapse of biodiversity caused by human activity should be of concern to all stakeholders. On a global scale, nearly one million species are threatened with extinction. On Earth, 85% of wetlands have disappeared and 75% of natural areas have been altered. At this rate, by 2100, all insects could have disappeared from the surface of our planet.
