Ellen MacArthur is a British yachtswoman and world authority on the circular economy. She is best known for her world record-breaking solo circumnavigation in 2005 and for finishing second in the 2000-2001 Vendée Globe.
Passionate about the sea since childhood, she has spent more than 10 years of her life sailing the oceans and is now fully committed to her foundation "Ellen MacArthur Foundation", protecting the environment and fighting for a sustainable economy.
In 2003, Ellen founded theEllen MacArthur Cancer Trustwith the aim of helping seriously ill children to discover the joys of sailing.
