This event is organised by the CEA, BRGM, ADEME, the Occitanie Region, and the National Institute of Circular Economy, the Circular Economy Forum of Low-Carbon Energies for the Energy Transition(FEET) 2022 offers networking, presentations, and round tables/debates around four key guiding themes to succeed in this transition to the circular economy of low-carbon energies:
- Industrial experiences and business models
- Innovation and R&D
- Circular Energy Transition (CET) and territories
- CTE professions and training
Achieving the energy transition by mastering the materials cycle
According to the latest report by the International Energy Agency (Outlook 2020), compliance with the Paris climate agreement would require a 40-fold increase in electric mobility, a 6.5-fold increase in wind power and a 12-fold increase in solar power by 2040.
While this transition will lead to a sharp reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels, it will generate a very significant need for strategic raw materials for the implementation of an energy mix combining nuclear power and renewables.
To meet these needs in a sustainable way, all the pillars of thecircular economy must be deployed: reinforcingresponsible sourcing, improving theeco-design of energy systems, developing economic models, encouraging industrial symbiosis, territorialising a recycling industry, thinking about the jobs of tomorrow, etc.
