Captain Paul WATSON

A renowned lecturer, long-time environmentalist and marine wildlife conservationist, Captain Paul Watson is also a co-founder of Greenpeace and founder of the Sea Shepherd.

Mr. Watson has dedicated his life to the protection of marine animals: whales, dolphins, seals... and has received numerous honours for his dedication to the oceans and the planet: the Genesis Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1998, he was named one of the top 20 environmental heroes of the 20th century by Time Magazine in 2000 and was inducted into the US Animal Right Hall of Fame in Washington D.C. in 2002.

In 2007, he was also awarded the Amazon Peace Prize by the President of Ecuador.

Then, in 2012, the captain became the second person after Captain Jacques Cousteau to receive the Jules Verne Prize, dedicated to environmentalists and adventurers.

If the oceans die, we die too. We cannot live on this planet with a dead ocean.
