The speaker Dominique Bourg is a philosopher. He is an honorary professor at the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment of the University of Lausanne. He is a strong supporter of the concept of degrowth.
Dominique Bourg holds two doctorates from the University of Strasbourg 2 and the EHESS. He is interested in the relationship between the category of spirituality and the shaping of our relationship to nature. He is a specialist in environmental issues and regularly speaks on these subjects in the media or at conferences organised by all types of organisations. Since 2006, he has been a professor at the University of Lausanne.
Dominique Bourg was vice-president of Commission 6 of the Grenelle de l'environnement. A former member of the Coppens Commission, he is Vice-President of the Nicolas Hulot Foundation. With Alain Papaux, he directs the collection "L'écologie en question" published by PUF. In 2003, the lecturer Dominique Bourg was awarded the Promeneur Solitaire prize and in 2015, the Veolia prize for environmental books. He is an Officer of the Order of the Legion of Honour and the National Order of Merit.
Author of some thirty books on his favourite themes, he recently published "La Pensée écologique", an anthology with A. Fraignieres and Dictionnaire de la pensée écologique in collaboration with Alain Papaux published by PUF in 2015.
